It has some nice action sequences. But overall it's just way too long and overly complicated instead of being a straightforward efficient suspenseful cat and mouse plot.

TLJ is still good, but this bland, by-the-numbers thriller is a poor copy of it's overrated predecessor.

Oddly slack, lifeless action film that discards the clear, direct and propulsive lines of THE FUGITIVE for a lot of tedious, inconsequential bloat – Jones tries his best, but flounders in the narrative rather than driving it, Snipes’ motivations are muddy and ultimately inspire apathy rather than sympathy, and even Downey can’t bring any spark to his apparent fifth wheel. Copy cat imitations of THE FUGITVE’s key action sequences just highlight how impressive the original still is by comparison.

It's a movie where Tommy Lee Jones chases down a fugitive, how much more could you ask for? As a thriller, it's pretty solid. The long runtime does make it drag in places, but there are plenty of scenery changes (from Kentucky to Queens, NYC) and the opening scene is especially intense with the plane. It's just that The Fugitive is better than this in every regard which makes the existence of this movie questionable, but yeah, it passes the time just fine.

I feel like you need to be a huge fan of The Fugitive in order to get fully into this movie. The characters don't do much to develop past what we saw in the last film except for our lead, and the new fugitive, while Snipes does a decent job, just isn't as compelling this time since he's so highly trained there's much less suspense than when it was an intelligent but average man. The plane sequence may have seriously stepped up the game for the movie, but otherwise it's fair but not great.

I liked the fact that Robert Downey Jnr's character is paired with Tommy Lee Jones. Its perhaps unsurprising to hear that they don't get on too well together. I enjoyed the action scenes - there are some good, sort of 'hold on to your hat' type sequences and the plot was interesting enough to keep me watching. I preferred this to 'The Rock'. If your a fan of Downey Jnr. then I'd recommend this film, or if your a fan of thrillers, then this is worth a watch.

Overall the movie was good. Tommy Lee Jones does a wonderful job and Robert Downey, Jr. was memorable as well. The comic relief was a must and was appreciated as it helped counterract the amazing suspense level present. I think I will add this one to my collection.

I was feeling pretty unforgiving towards this movie for the first half -- often comparing it to The Fugitive and how it fails to live up to its predecessor in every way with the exception of Jones. But it's not half bad. There's some decent action set pieces here, Jones is now the lead to help counterbalance how much Snipes isn't Harrison Ford, and Robert Downey Jr. is... in it. Nah, it's not bad. It's okay. You could do a lot worse.

I can't figure out what Tommy Lee Jones had to gain here. Why rehash a character that you have already won an Oscar for, and replace the irreplaceable Harrison Ford with...Snipes? Really? Complete retread of The Fugitive, which was only so-so to begin with.

Much like the similar film, The Fugitive, this take on a criminal on the run out to prove his innocence, showcases some nice action; keeping the suspense high as we cheer on the efforts of our protagonist as he pulls a Richard Kimbel.

As expected with little to stand out, a decent ride with a couple killer stunts. A couple lags & schmaltzy moments but for the most part Tommy's clipped lines keep the picture moving briskly. Seems the new trend is complicated fine plot points that real action fans don't care about.

Tommy Lee Jones returns to his Oscar-winning role of Sam Gerard, and despite Wesley Snipes' nearly-forgettable fugitive character, the film strings together enough whiz-bang action set pieces one right after another to keep the film zipping right along. Jones and his returning supporting cast are very strong, making 'U.S. Marshals' an easy recommendation that only pales considerably next to 'The Fugitive.'
