Terrible as an Uncharted film, but if you can look past that little problem you get a pretty watchable adventure movie with Tom Holland as Peter Parker and Mark Wahlberg as someone who is also there.

You know what they perfectly captured Uncharted - this is a pretty fun rental. Marky Mark is an atrocious Sully but a fine Marky Mark character. It's like he just wandered onto set and they went with it.

Implausible but mostly fun. I’m a huge fan of the games. There’s an Uncharted movie somewhere in here that’s kind of outshined by the corporate made Sony movie unfortunately. Holland isn’t bad, but I didn’t buy him as Drake, and Wahlberg was wooden and miscast as hell. I didn’t care about anyone and the mystery was sort of boring if I’m being honest. The games are much more beautiful and cinematic. Fleischer knows how to make fun, humorous movies. That’s pretty much all this is. Great action.

There’s some fun fluidity to the stunt choreography and Holland is charming, but (obscure pun ahead) I was surprised they went to the Philippines instead of the Cayman Islands, because the writers clearly committed regicide to become the new Kings of Convenience: things illogically and unfailingly, ultimately comically, falling into place. It’s fun (naval combat in flying ships), but really stupid (naval combat in flying ships), and ultimately the poor writing is an anchor dragging it down.

Rather underwhelming culmination of what I swear was ten years of rumors, false starts, director musical chairs and development hell. Most of the treasure hunting and clue collecting is about on the cinematic Tomb Raider or National Treasure level at best. Action sequences either look like weightless CGI or are just dopey as hell, like Marky Mark supposedly struggling to fight a 110 lbs twentysomething girl dressed like a zoomer art school fashion show. There is a kitty though, so that's good.

As someone who has played all the mainline games, I think people are whiners. Does this feel like a true Uncharted adaption? No, but you won’t find a video game movie that translates as well as you want. This is a fun action adventure that picks specific ideas that adapt well. Holland is a fine choice for Nathan, and his chemistry with Marky & Ali is quite entertaining that it carries some iffy writing choices. This is exactly what I thought it would be, and I’m happy with that.

Maybe if it had spent less time (or none at all) in the three most dull/obnoxious antagonists I've seen recently and more on Holland (and to a lesser extent, Wahlberg), I might have liked it more. As it is, it's mostly Holland's gigantic charm what lifts it above terrible and, for what it's worth, it made me want to play the games about Drake

I had low expectations and was still underwhelmed. Aside from claiming to be a prequel, and then ripping scenes from the games and changing backstories, it barely feels like it’s part of the Uncharted franchise. The casting cares more about star power, although Holland’s not bad in this, he doesn’t feel like the same character from the games. Walhberg ocassionaly works as Sully, but mostly feels a different person. Ending is a bit anticlimactic as well. Not bad, but the games are far better.

The video game series gained acclaim from fans and critics alike, and an action game with a strong and present story makes great material for a movie adaptation. Yet, still, "Uncharted" is only a big budget action/adventure yarn not unlike "National Treasure," solidly entertaining, but hardly exceptional.

It’s a combination of all the games, it’s nice to see all the characters and how it isn’t a replica of the games but is loosely based off the games. It is not realistic at all but does that matter in the case of a game film, no. I did like this film a lot and can’t wait for the sequel where we break Sam out the prison,. Also, why did Tom Holland roid himself up,( you can tell by his puffy nipples). He could have bulked up and been less cut and still nailed the role. Oh well

The first half is surprisingly a rather simple Robert Langdon-ish quest about putting keys into a seemingly endless series of lousy keyholes. The final 1/3 delivers the expected action (that is quite fun) and once again Tom Holland does a fine job.

The games are notable for their cinematic flair, yet this film adaptation of Uncharted seems more focused on "video-gamey" over-the-top CGI action sequences. The set design is great, but the casting is not. Wahlberg leads scenes more than Holland, and neither has the presence they did in the games. Ali is okay though her accent is patchy. Gabrielle & Banderas have to deal with weak writing, though that's a theme with villains in this franchise. A few entertaining scenes but the film is mediocre.

Uncharted is not a video game franchise that I'm attuned to, but from the little I know and have seen, the action sequences here are like the games (big and kind of clever in how elaborate and silly they are). And that's when this movie warrants being considered good. If there were a few more action set pieces this might even be great. They cover up the fact that the plotting is very average and while Holland is charming, there isn't that much to latch onto otherwise.

There is little to no difference in the acting of Tom Holland, so it might as well be Spider-man. And speaking of the MCU, Mark's dialogue is straight out of there. Overall, the movie is cheesy and very light. And I didn't know it was possible, but it was too action-y. I know it's based on a video game, but some scenes felt really absurd and fake.

Barely a movie and it has no spark or charisma of its own. Very unconvincing CG in a lot of it as well as dull as ditchwater characters but I've seen worse. On the plus side the final set piece is a little different but nothing to write the extended family about. Seriously, the burning the back of the postcard thing is preschool stuff right? Try a little harder.

Given the many years this has spent in development hell and the lack of personality everywhere you look -- I mean, any cutscene from the games is better directed than the best part of this stuff here --, it's kinda not terrible -- cast is good, just cashing in some easy money, right? How fun can that be? At least it runs fast and manages to leave absolutely no remarkable impression behind.

The CGI is a little spotty and the writing is full of cannonball-shaped holes (Nathan is a good character but the backstories to Sully, the treasure, and the rival hunters are only hinted at; meanwhile, the twisty trust/betrayal dynamic of the main three awkwardly flip flops between serious and playful), but the clue-hopping pace is perfect, the comedy sufficient, and the adventure action barrels of fun (see the heist, the plane jump, and the ridiculously amazing pirate ship battle in the sky).

I think Tom Holland was a great pick for a young Nathan Drake, and so was Sophia Ali as Chloe. Wahlberg was a terrible pick for Sully, and the other characters were okay but forgettable. I think there's enough here that the movie entertains, but I think it doesn't want to be as epic as Uncharted can truly be. It's missing the grand scale adventure of an Indiana Jones movie, and it's missing the epic cinematography and music it deserves. It feels cheaper than it should.

Like many, I was initially skeptical about the Holland casting; nothing against Holland, just felt like a weird fit for the character. But count me firmly in the "I expected this to be shit and was pleasantly surprised" category. I won't remember this movie over the long-term but it was completely inoffensive and even good in places, especially if you don't let the "video game movie" stigma taint your thoughts. Shout-out Sofia Ali and Tati Gabrielle for a pair of nigh-starmaking performances.

Finally a commercial, not-my-choice film! And it was as shallow-superficial as I imagined it would be. Doesn't mean it wasn't fun with mates and too much popcorn and pepsi (who on Earth decided they should be so big?!). The story arc and character development are completely unsatisfying, though I did laugh couple of times at the both jokes and absurdity of certain scenes, moments. Sometimes I think it's good to see a mindless action film and enjoy the process of turning your brain off.

It can be watched as an action-adventure film, but as an Uncharted adaptation it is bad. The atmosphere in the games is definitely lacking in this movie. I also didn't like the way the characters were portrayed. The script in particular, is far from gripping. Everything in the games is written in the best way, why did they create such a mess when they could just follow the series?

Pretty meh. If you're a gamer, the framework is Uncharted 4, mixed with a bit of 3 (plane) and 2 (Chloe/thieves). It's mostly authentic but appears more like a clinical effort than a soulful adaptation. They should have just retold Uncharted 1. Nate is far too clumsy during fights it's like every battle is slapstick. He only uses a gun against one target who he completely misses. All the main baddies are killed in unsatisfying ways. Cast is okay but a mere shadow of the video game characters.

Let it be known, I am not a gamer. When choosing between movies, tv shows, books, music, or video games - games are always the last chosen on that list - BUT, one video game series has me hooked where others have never been able to touch - and that's Uncharted. Now, look. I knew going in that this wouldn't be able to touch the games...and it doesn't...but..it's...fine? The main mystery at the heart of it is...weak at best, but the dialogue mostly worked. Mark Wahlberg, though? Why?

Since I'm more of a Nintendo guy and have never owned a Playstation, I've not played any of the Uncharted games. From what I've read, that might be a positive going into this one as no fond gaming memories get destroyed. Instead, to us it was a typical Hollywood-style action adventure of the most mainstream variety. Good fun, thin in sensical plot, but with enough action to entertain.

In Fleischer's career thus far he has shown a real ability to make the most of the chemistry between his cast. It elevated movies that would have otherwise been fairly pedestrian affairs into pretty enjoyable experiences. Surprisingly he wasn't able to do the same here. Considering that's actually a strength of both Holland and Wahlberg made it even more surprising. Overall it was entertaining enough but can't help but feel it was a missed opportunity.

The aerial sequences were stretching it thin with the suspension of disbelief, the physics, and the CGI, but I guess if one forgets it is supposed to be Uncharted, it can be an alright adventure movie. The puzzles and a lot of it is dumb, but they still manage to find some originality mostly in the characters' interactions. The fights were interesting, some unusual choreographies and a good use of acrobat skills. I think older kids could like it even if there are murders in it.

Imagine if they made an Uncharted movie where they took the base concept of the game without any of the grandeur, added action sequences more varied than hiding behind a box and randomly platforming on cliffs, and turned Nathan Drake and Sully into Peter Parker and Tony Stark from the MCU. I'm pretty upset we never stumbled across a fully bearded Magellan skeleton. Featuring Nolan North as Bob Odenkirk in retirement.

Everything comes ridiculously easy for the protagonists - from the dumbest heist in history to an A to B to C treasure hunt complete with guidebooks (and ending up in locations that would have clearly been discovered already) to the fact that the bartender is better at fighting than all of the professional mercenaries. Couple that with a fairly serious tone for such a dumb plot and you get a seriously bad film.

I was familiar with some of the most characters, though, and all of them feel horribly miscast. Mark Wahlberg has the acting skills of a wooden log; or in other words, he just pretty much plays the same character over and over again. These video game adaptations are much better overall than comic book ones. They are over the top anyway, and somehow it translates very well; two ships tied to helicopters with people jumping in between... In the realm of video games, that makes sense. Holland annoyed me as Spider-Man, but you see a very Peter Parker-y side here, so now I understand why they selected him. Sophia Ali is really gorgeous; the dynamics between the characters was good too; don't know the games but I was entertained.
