Get me a hot sauce watch and a belt buckle that dispenses tums. Do NOT google contemporary Chris Kattan images.

From the Oscar winning writer of 12 Years a Slave. As it's based on an aughts dotcom show, it can be dated: as in the Austin Powers feel and Colin Powell spoof. But the gags hold up, especially Dave Chappelle, the Ebony & Ivory number, and the Def Comedy Jam mocking of cultural differences. However, Griffin, Richards, and Kattan aren't right casting choices and it hypocritically mocks racial stereotypes while using sophomoric sexism and homophobia. Marginal recommendation for the laughs.

Polarized. When at its best, it's hilarious and very clever. When it's not, though, it's painfully ridiculous Rob Schneider-like stuff.

Really impressed by this film. Came in expecting nothing and found probably the best blaxploitation film post-1980.

Pretty funny movie, lots of laugh-out-loud moments. Some of the jokes fell flat, and it was starting to get stale by the end, but overall quite enjoyable.

Rises somewhat above straight-up "White people do like this, black people do like THIS!" with a few clever beats, but it's still not exactly great.

Strange comedy. I must say it had a style, if you like this style. Movies short length is a plus as it ran out of steam and fun at the end.

Very few movies can maintain a steady gag rate like this one tried so quite a few jokes just bombed/were just corny. But man,Dave Chapelle will forever be one of the funniest people to walk this earth.Everything he says he's able to turn into a decent joke and in this he was able to turn even the simplest of sight gags into a great joke.NPH while playing a pretty tired role was able to bring some life to the whole thing(he's a great comedic actor.Maybe not a hilarious person?)Griffin is enjoyable

Hey, it's a parody of blaxploitation films, and it has lots of good satire on white culture and race relations too. It's still pretty stupid at times, but it's definitely better than it looks.

It kind of overstays its welcome by the end, but I'll admit to at least half a dozen gut busting laughs during this one. The Lays potato chip thing made me spit take.

Stereotyping stereotypes is so...stereotypical? Gotta admit, the suave stylishness of this is pretty undeniable. But there's that black stereotype again: style over substance. And that is a pretty accurate description, even though you can expect only so much from a comedy.

Not great and frequently very dumb, but some of the jokes hit very well, and Neil Patrick Harris and Dave Chapelle are both fantastic.

If you want to see a Shaft satire comedy then this is for you. It does have some "haha white people do stuff like this, black people do stuff like this" humor but most of it is much better than that. No really, trust me.

Endearingly silly blaxplotiation send-up seems influenced by Austin Powers, (though eases back on the scatological humour); can’t quite bring itself into proper focus to land an overall punchline, and arguably drags on too long, but definitely has its moments: Chappelle’s smart-ass patter from the sidelines is terrific, and this may well represent Richards’ best, most amusing screen work to date. Nice to see Williams as token “elder statesman”, but it’s a shame he’s not given a great deal to do.

i like farce as much as anyone, but this movie was just plain stupid. it was trying to be really funny, but wasn't, at all. not so bad that it makes you mad, but pretty bad in it's genre, especially with films like austin powers out there that do everything this film fails to.

Enjoyable light comedy full of references, sort of a fresh take on the Austin Powers concept. Can't really see where most of the criticism is coming from. It does look a bit cheap, true, and Chris Kattan is annoying, but those things are not dealbreakers if you just get into the (silly) spirit of the film.

YTS.

If Eddie Griffin does nothing else for the rest of his life, he'll be remembered for this, one of the funniest films ever made. Worth watching just to see Griffin & his arch nemesis (brilliantly played by Chris Kattan) chew up the scenery & poke fun at virtually every racial stereotype exploited by the blaxploitation craze of the 70s. Too many hilarious moments to mention, but the shower fight between Denise Richards & Aunjanue Ellis, & Billy Dee Williams' "commercial" are standouts. Hilarious.

This is a hilarious parody with Eddie Griffin playing the part of Undercover Brother. He is perfect for the part, as he doesn't overplay his comedy. He's making a parody and he knows it, and he makes it hilarious. We still can't put mayonnaise on our sandwiches without laughing. I also especially liked Chris Kattan as The Man's henchman, and Dave Chappelle as one of the B.R.O.T.H.E.R.H.O.O.D. Then there was Doogie Houser MD as the token white boy.
