Pointless and boring, with abrasive editing. Godard's influence can be felt more than Truffaut's, I think.

Although this one carries a potential intrinsic to "nouvelle vague" which is to play with cinematic genres to obtain a better and unique means to narrate a subject in a novel way, it is too obsolete and text-based that I consider it as a cinematic intellectual nihilism for the directors only want to show off about their knowledge on literature and arts, like a high school boy trying to impress a beautiful girl. Art should be ambitious, serious even when funny and seek solemnity.

Written and directed by the duo, but mostly Godard's show, who went crazy in the editing room, adding weird voiceovers, frenzy music and quick cutting to this story of a young woman trying to get to Paris while a flood hits the city.

A short co-directed by Truffaut and Godard, in which a young girl cavorts around with a companion during a flood, while delivering a monologue. It's a very playful, speedy and free-wheeling piece that seems to perfectly meld the styles of its two creators.
