I usually love the beautiful Mira Sorvino, but this character is sometimes obnoxious. Tammy Blanchard played her repressed estranged sister. This story is about a young woman on the brink of a nervous breakdown, but she comes off as a self absorbed hot mess. The story is rather poorly told, with many key elements exposed too late to keep it interesting and engaging. Surprisingly the ending is worth suffering through the first half, but I doubt I will ever want to sit through a repeat viewing.

This movie is pretty annoying. I usually love Mira Sorvino but she is a loud and obnoxious girl from the Bronx in this film. She remains annoying throughout the whole film which is only 80 minutes long but it feels a lot longer than that. The movie's saving grace is Tammy Blanchard who offsets Sorvino's character. She brought a bit of calm to the film. Still, there is a lot of crying, whining and general annoying sounds to listen to for far too long for the film to be truly enjoyable.

I think it helps to be from New York City in order to stomach the obnoxious behavior of Mira Sorvino's character. But once the movie finds it groove, she's really quite funny (and yes, there are a LOT of people more obnoxious than her in this city, unfortunately). The acting in general is excellent, the real reason to see this. The script is not particularly well-structured, but the commitment of the performers saves it.
