So silly and overly dramatic at times. Then it turns back into a slasher for awhile. Decent music. Fav scene: Jackson's bewilderment going through Shelly's sex toys.

A mildly entertaining horror/comedy that references Friday the 13th quite a bit for better & for worse, it benefits from decent performances & a story that's so weird & over-the-top that there's undeniably some novelty to it. That said, while the comedy often works & there are plenty of laughs, it also definitely doesn't work more than a few times. The plot feels strangely jumbled, too, & just how meta it's supposed to be is never really made clear. Overall, it's fun enough to watch once.

A meta-slasher with an amusing concept but not enough skill or budget to pull it off properly. Fans of traditional gore might be disappointed as apart from gory beginning and ending, the film is basically a twisted love story. It's also rare to see characters recite Byron and Shakespeare. The more dramatic middle would have required better make-up effects; which is even more highlighted by Vinegar Syndrome blu-ray as opposed to murky VHS copies. Recommended for adventurous slasher fans.
