One of Joan Crawford's earliest talkies and she comes out of it quite well! While there were still adjustments needed to be done, she looked comfortable talking in front of the camera and is full of youthful energy. Robert Montgomery didn't do bad either even if he looked way too thin to do that boxing scene. But probable the main person making sure this varied script felt passable was old Ernest Torrence using his acting experience to carry the dialogue. For the story was a little drowsy.
