Sonny Chiba is Wolfguy, the only survivor of a clan of werewolves who relies on his feral, full-moon-activated superpowers to solve mysterious crimes. One night, a bizarre and bloody death in the Tokyo streets plunges him into a far-reaching conspiracy populated by crooked politicians, naked white women, a phantom tiger, and a shadowy organization (called the J-CIA) out to steal the secret of Wolfguy's powers and the blood right out of his veins.

Entertaining bizarre Japanese action/crime/drama about the last not-'werewolf' who is a reporter(?), who investigates a killer psychic revenge tiger spirit, which is powered by the vengeance of a singer turned syphilitic junkie after being gang-raped by a group of thugs, who were sent by the Yakuza, who were working with corrupt politicians in a conspiracy, or something..I think. Regardless, despite the severe lack of werewolves, the movie makes for a decent psychedelic martial-arts/crime/drama.

This movie contains some surprisingly good gore effects and a bunch of psychedelic audio and visuals. Yet oddly enough this 86 minute movie was strangely dull for large sections. It has an interesting story and some average fight scenes. This is mostly action/crime with very little horror elements.

One of those wild, confusing genre movies out of Japan, peppered with psychedelic effects and sequences which hardly help matters congeal. If watched under favourable conditions it possesses adequate cult appeal. Probably best not to go in too sober.

Sonny Chiba as a werewolf fighting gangsters and a tiger spirit; what can I go wrong? Unfortunate a lot . For a movie with such a premise it's surprisingly dull. The script is horrible mashup of bizarre clashing plot elements , the action mediocre at best and the direction second-rate.

Uneven action/horror hybrid. Chiba is great as usual, but the film tries to be too many things at once and ends up feeling a bit longer than it should. Definitely worth a watch for fans of Japanese genre films or Chiba, but feels like a missed opportunity.
