probably the most openly reflexive sono i've seen, and that may be my least favourite thing about it because the framing device seems largely redundant (at least nowadays given considerable knowledge of his filmography and worldview) and i would've liked more of the film-within-the-film, which is batshit even by sono's standards. impulsive schoolgirl wants to bang this creepy chef so bad she drags the iconic statue of hachikō halfway across town, and that's just the first act.
