The first half of the movie I was wondering if it was just going to be a clip show. There were some hits and misses. It was a nice thoughtful ending. Be sure to check out the bonus short films on disc for good cheap softcore movie satires. Fav scenes: creepy public access show lady; Sexy Swedish Illegal Aliens from Space (especially the extended version); piano jump scare; watermelon drop.

Lots of people will not like this, but I think it works because Robbins fully leans into the 'VHS nostalgia'. By that, I mean he takes a sentimental approach to looking at the past - it's sincere - but not without a sense of humour. I can't help but think that Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are friends with Robbins, or at the very least Robbins is a big fan of 'Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job'. Rating might increase with additional viewings.

Feels like a long Adult Swim sketch on youtube, kind of like Off the Air series, but less surreal
