Maurice and Ian are successful but aging actors, close friends whose conversation revolves around theatrical shop talk and the infirmities of septuagenarianism. Ian in particular is fearful that death is right around the corner, so he agrees to let his niece's daughter Jessie move in to his flat to care for him. Jessie, a provincial girl in her early twenties, turns out to be a nightmare for Ian, a hard-drinking, rude, and dismissive twerp... (imdb)

O'Toole in prime form as the horny old man.

Good old people films are rare. O'Toole acts very nicely here. And now wonder he's after the girl; Jodie Whittaker is really hot. Witty comedy turns in the end more serious, but less successful. Anyway recommended.

A delightful road through an old man's feelings. O'Toole is great and so is the light-toned direction. Recomendable.

The sexiest movie about a dying man since...ever?

O'Toole is great and it's always funny watching old people do anything.

Apotheosis of a dirty old man, written without much insight by a dirty young(er) man. But it is saved by the cramped, senescent camerawork of Haris Zambarloukos, and the authentic attachment between the elderly actors (O'Toole, Phillips, and Redgrave) whose death-fear seems all too real.

Although his character is far less than admirable, O'Toole does a great job here.

A brave and funny role for O'Toole, and the fact that he does it so well is what's really remarkable.

Warm, vulgar and usually pretty funny what mars the effectiveness of this picture which could otherwise be the story of a man accepting the impotence that comes with age is how unforgivably cruel the ending is.

O'Toole and Whitaker turn in nice performances, upon which the film relies since there are not too many other actors featured in it. It almost reminds me of a wholly different take on My Fair Lady.

When I grow up I hope I'm half the actor Peter O'Toole is. Good film full of some amazing actors, though I think acting types might get a little bit more out of it than everyone else.

Peter O'Toole gives a good performance in this film. There are some flaws in this film but overall I enjoyed it and I'm recommending it.

A film that is held together exclusively through O'Toole's personal magnetism. And really that's all that is necessary to make this film very moving and highly watchable.

"...the joys of it really are the performances and it's worth seeing for O'Toole and Phillips together."

I was pretty astonished with how well O'Toole pulls of the dirty old man role. This movie is pretty good, but the whole ending really didn't leave me feeling like the plot went anywhere.
