A film made for sadists. The movie would work as a disturbing thriller, but as a disturbing dark comedy it's just plain disturbing. Most of the intended comedy is supposed to derive from several shouting matches among the male characters, but seeing people beaten and bludgeoned to death, sawed up and thrown in luggage bags doesn't ring the ha-ha bell for me. It's all very sad, very sickening, and ultimately a depressing look at what "comedy" is(n't) these days. Great cast though.

What a vile movie. The first little bit is funny then it gets so far up its own ass. Dark comedy without the comedy. Awful. I hate.

One of the best dark comedies of all time. Sometimes the tension gets so thick you just want to turn it off. Really well done.

A movie that my 13-year-old self may have found edgy and cool. But as it stands now, the movie reeks of effort and fails to shock us. The "jokes" never work, the dialog is unbearably grating, and the plot events constantly sacrifice logic for "edginess". I'm not one of those who demands characters be sympathetic, but the movie needs to give me at least one that I don't absolutely despise. Very Bad Things doesn't do that. An irritating, stupid movie.

Revels in its own vile misogyny. A movie for wankers addicted to the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Expressing any amount enjoyment for this movie on this website should be enough probable cause for police to search your home. It is not a dark comedy as much as it is a feel-good movie for shithead mutants.

Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead - as brought to you by characters I hated. How did I ever come to love Jeanne Tripplehorn? Her movies are garbage.

In plain English, I liked it. All of the characters are equally despicable, and it is simply fun to watch them get what's coming to them.

One of only two movies I have ever stopped watching. I think that I have a good sense of humor and I, personally, did not find anything humorous about this movie.

I may not have done any especially great things in my life so far, but I don't think I've done any very bad things either. For example, I didn't direct the movie "Battleship".

Rather than innocent victims they should have buried every reel, videotape and DVD ever made of this film deep in the wasteland of the Nevada desert, preferably that of a nuclear test site so that we could wipe the very existence of this scourge of a film off the face of the planet. (Let's see them put THAT blurb on your movie posters!) [Full Review]

This film is brilliant, but be forewarned, leave your morality at the door. It's utter irreverence allows the film to dwell in the contemptible nature of stereotypes, creating moments of disturbing hilarity. You feel very bad for laughing, but if you do, you just won't stop. With this film, Berg reminds us that even the horrors of life are objectively funny. If you can't laugh at very bad things, you damn well know you shouldn't be watching this film.
