Via Pony Express (1933)
The Government has approved Betty Castelar's Spanish land grant and notification is sent via pony express. Porter is after her ranch and waylay's rider Buck Carson to get the letter. Left to die in the desert, he is saved by Castelar's horse and brought to her ranch. When Porter later arrives, a peculiar mannerism lets Buck identify him as the gang leader and he vows to get the letter back. (imdb)

One of the rare Jack Hoxie westerns. He was a established silent cowboy, but he wasn't much of a talker and couldn't read which made his talkie career very short and limited. They don't give him much to say here, but he carries the rest okay.... for a poverty row horse rider. But this is still a very typical picture of it's kind and barely register on the radar of the thousands of poverty row westerns out there.
