Vicious Fun

Oh my sweet Jesus, this was a nice surprise. I'm kind of a hard egg to crack with horror comedies, but I have to tell you, this was brilliant. It's a mix between The Babysitter and Fright Night, sprinkled with a number of characters that are clearly modeled after horror icons such as Jason Vorhees, the Chameleon from American Psycho, Hannibal Lecter and more. Past that, the gore was a nice addition, as it was mostly practical. Shudder, you have a winner.

Vicious Fun was anything but. The premise sounded really cool but everything was too goofy and everyone was too stupid. More cartoon than comedy or horror.

This was very enjoyable and awesome even though the final act kind of runs out of steam. Definitely sets up for a possible franchise.

A small comedy-horror movie with some laughs. Don't expect too much.

Shameless 1980s throwback. Evan Marsh's faces look like they were literally cut and pasted from 80s chiller-flavored teen comedies. As a nostalgic tribute it is pitch-perfect, from the character archetypes right down to the soundtrack. Both script and execution are mainly cartoonish rather than scary or funny, but regarding it as "vicious fun" isn't that much of a stretch. There are worse ways to pass your time.

Another derivative horror homage that excuses it's lack of creativity or skill on being indie.
