Victor Crowley...what happened to your head? Oh! Victor Crowley...now you've rose from the dead. Your life in these films seemed so tragic, now your ghost haunts them all. You murdered those people with hatchets, while you're waiting on Daddy's call. Think your charming?...self aware at your core. Slightly alarming!...the sheer amount of your gore. Winking at tropes that were sacred, as fake blood soaks the earth. Debuted to the fans as a secret, showing some decent worth. [INSERT GUITAR SOLO]

Unless you're a traditionalist who believes slasher films have to be as serious & dopey as 99% of 80's fare, this is, hands down, the best slasher franchise. As usual, Green amps up the fun over-the-top gore & does his damndest to make the potential victims at least fun to watch (& never interchangeable) when the killer's not around. He also bothers to come up w/ reasons how a killer's resurrected & demonstrates a real knack for raising the stakes (the pregnancy) & heightening the suspense here

Maybe it's because I had low expectations, but I actually kinda enjoyed this one. The story is very simplistic, the characters are fairly hollow, and it's clear that they didn't have much of a budget. But, I don't know, it seemed to take itself even less seriously than the previous entries. I actually found it to be a funny movie & that made all the difference. There are some amusing, gory kills, as expected. I didn't really enjoy Crowley himself - but then, I'm not sure I ever have.

I don't know why but I liked this better than the third film and totally embraced the absurdity of the whole thing.

This movie keeps things pretty simple and works like a bottle episode. I liked the humor and Crowley was freaky enough. I'll have to watch the rest of the series. Also Dillion was the real MVP.

This is, by far, the worst of this franchise. It's not even close. The horse is dead, but Adam Green refuses to stop beating it- the result is a dull, unfunny, unneeded & never asked for fourth installment in what should've been a solid slasher trilogy. The cast is trying & there are a couple nice surprises, but beyond that this is a redundant & self-indulgent waste. Bad script, bad characters, boring plot, an awful ending that solves nothing. It's watchable, barely, but incredibly frustrating.

For about half of this film's running time, I was pretty confident I didn't like it. It was pretty much all humour, and I found it to be startlingly unfunny. When Crowley's rampage started, I warmed up to it ... a little. I don't think there's much of anything special here, but it's a decent slasher throwback with some really creatively gory effects work marred only somewhat by their obvious cheapness. I say "somewhat" because their cheapness also lends them a bit of charm.
