I've not seen the first one, but apparently it has very little to do with it, so that wasn't why I struggled to keep up with what was going on here. Pål Øie decides to set the stage very vaguely and don't really explain that much in the process. There is always a creepy feeling and you do get hints of whats going on, but don't expect to find much logic of whats going on in this abandoned asylum. The production values are alright and is probable the main reason to enjoy this Norwegian horror.
