Violet Evergarden : The Movie

I really enjoyed the anime TV series this film is based on and I enjoyed this too. The whole story/character concept fascinates me and its safe to say this is a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, as would be expected if you know the show its based on. There's some particularly nice animation and its quite thoughtful and touching/poignant at times, so yes, I'd wholeheartedly recommend this film, particularly to fans of the original anime series.

A more than satisfying conclusion to one of the best animes in existence.

A pretty languid and low-key follow up to a pretty languid and low-key anime series. I suppose it’s well made for what it is with quality animation, but I foresee no situation in which I’ll ever watch it again. My Criticker “probable score” was miles off on this one lol.

Long-winded cryfest that doesn’t offer anything new to the story except the concluding scenes. But you have to wade through 2 hrs of moping and wailing before that. The slice of lifeness of the series that kept balance between the more serious war and drama is non-existent in the movie. It’s literally 2 hrs of lamenting the unfairness of life. I fail to see the necessity of the timeskip when it reveals absolutely nothing of how things fared for the cast in the future. But gorgeous animation.

A beautiful and emotional conclusion to one of my favorite series. Bring tissues.
