Considering color movies from this period doesn't grow on trees, Virginia (1941) is one that's been shoved under the carpet. No wonder, for the Southern racial justification must have been seen as embarrassing even by it's contemporary 1941 audience! It's a hilarious look at old school morals. It's attempt to ride the wave of Southern romanticism after the success of Gone with the Wind (1939) made it in some ways a wonderful trainwreck.
