not sure about this one, it feels like a much less successful "Brazil." Had some interesting quirk (loved Mack Luster M.D., butter lube, chay-oss), but very slow paced and a little disorganized.

While Brazil did it better, Visioneers is still commendable for its take on what it is to be happy. Its pace doesn't do it any favors.

The first act was hilarious. Not full of huge guttural laughs, but probably one of the most consistently funny acts of a movie I've seen. The rest of the film definitely took a pretty big dip in the funny but was still enjoyable. The end message of "work makes you unhappy so you should have an affair and be a hipster" was kind of annoying but not enough to change the fact that this is a pretty good movie with lots of funny.

A modern comedy version of Brazil on a shoestring budget. I liked the world and Galifianakis. The plot could've developed better.

An affected mish-mash of other people's ideas and styles that occasionally manages to transcend its influences and create an emotional resonance, though I think that's partly due to Galifianakis's sympathetically minimalist performance. If you want to make the case that American indie movies are full of quirky bullshit and frustrated man-child protagonists, here's your argument-ender. And I liked the damn thing.

Dystopian black comedy, except the vision is kind of grey, and the comedy isn't funny.

Great theme, not that great script. Too much drama.

This was funny, but I wouldn't say that comedy is this movie's most compelling aspect. The united theme is larger than just the boredom felt at a life-wasting job or the emptiness in prescribed methods of seeking fulfillment. It addresses the malaise experienced by everyone who is trapped by the myths about how people should live their lives.

Really wants to be Charlie Kaufman-does-Brazil, and might have pulled it off - it's got great visuals, interesting character interactions and one or two brilliant ideas - if it weren't because its criticism of conformity is so ridiculously overdone (people explode if they're not allowed to have dreams...) and even stated outright a few times too many.

Middling score for a middling movie. I like the monotony and repetition of it all, keeps the chaos at bay.

It has a lot of heart, and a lot of vision. Pardon the pun.

A rather bland conceptual framework for a dystopian black comedy. There's literally nothing that this film has to offer that others haven't already done so, if not better in conception and execution. The performances are rather boring - even for Galifianakis' standards - affectations of the typical indie-hipster conceit. You would think a world run by a massive corporation would look more impersonal or embody some of the productivity creeds that the corp. alleges to adopt.

Brilliant and insane dark satire with great acting. Very uncomfortable in places. It's not entirely original, and I'm not sure about the ending yet.

Not as existential as The Cube (1969) and not as pointy as The Bothersome Man [Brysomme mannen, Den] (2006). Relies too much on Zach being tongue in cheek rather than really driving it home like the formers. Still good if you happened to stumble on this first.

It's no "Brazil" or "1984", but less will certainly do.

The intentional mispronunciation of the word chaos almost did it in for me, I never laughed, however, I did come very close to punching my TV. Other than that extremely difficult fault to overlook, the quirkiness of this movie is somewhat of an enigma.

A really charming, quirky, pseudo-fantastical satire of modern working life and commoditization of happiness. Hits on themes and tropes similar to Brazil, yeah, but the way this movie throws all the anxieties and insecurities right at you up front... its honesty is pretty endearing. The direness the brother character brought to his scenes was great. Directing is really competent, and a lot is said in the scenes with sparse dialog.

Aggressively mediocre. I'm not sure exactly who this film is made for. It's not nearly as brilliant a satire of the corporate world as, say, How to Get Ahead in Advertising, nor is it as effective a commentary on the dreariness of suburban existence as American Beauty (and the legion of similar films that followed in its wake). The performances are good all-around, but there is absolutely nothing compelling about this movie at all.

Not as funny as I expected, but much better. I loved the way they satirized the bizarre, horrible ways that people try to buy happiness. And I felt very moved by the unspoken mission that GWW has, and the conclusion itself, but I don't feel completely on board with the way they got there. The brother character seems like a non-sequitur and I'm simply exhausted by movies in which men make Significant Life Changes by hooking up as if they aren't married. These are just nitpicks, though. Good film.

Good movie that earned bonus marks for an endearing cast (Galifianakis, Kitty and Sydney Bristow's sister). Cutting indictment of modern society, but as others have pointed out it retreads territory covered by far better movies like Brazil.

This is a glorified student film, a meandering, whiny ode to ennui that somehow got actors and a budget despite being more transparent and shallow than Transformers 2.

This movie was recommended to me, so I picked it up and watched it. This movie is quiet, slow, and lacks the emotion that should be there (granted the characters are supposed to be emotionless). At times the movie gets overly tedious. There was some amusing parts (I may forever use the term "Chay-os!"), but not enough to make me want to watch it again.

Either I didn't get it or Galifianakis is better at playing roles where he actually has more than 2 lines to say, I didn't like this movie.

Great film. As it has been said, "In a just world, Zach Galifinanakis would be a movie star." His total commitment to his character trapped in this hellish life makes him and his story captivating and hilarious

This is a really weird film with some very funny moments. It is in the tradition of films like 1984 and Brazil. Zack Galifianakis and Judy Greer are both very good in this movie. This movie is not for everyone but if you are looking for something different then check it out.

Brazil, The Hudsucker Proxy or even Equilibrium all demand repeat viewings instead of this dystopian office drama. It attempts to be quirky (human explosions?) and poignant (an Oprah send up), but falls flat wherever it tries. Although the look of the film and cast are up to task, Visioneers constantly leaves us on the verge of caring. I will say, that I thought that the music sounded quite Polyphonic Spree-esque towards the end and sure enough Tim DeLaughter did the score. There's a plus!
