A Takashi Miike filme about family values. The blackest of humor. Like a pungent cheese only recommended to the hardcore.

Takeshi Miike at his most... depraved and bizarre, and THAT is saying something. Still, however, a powerful film with some incredible performances. Watch and be amazed at how just about any family can rediscover functionality... in some form. Not for the feint-hearted or those who are prudish about things like lactation and necrophilia.

tum abartili, ariza, tabu durumlari bir japon ailesi uzerinden anlatarak toplumu kendisiyle yuzlestirmek isteyen miike, bir yabanciyla bu aileyi kesistirir ve ailenin kendini yeniden kesfetmesine yardimci olur. aile fertlerinin iliskilerinde gercekciligi ve rasyonelligi koruyarak absurd ve acimasiz kara mizahiyla bir toplumsal taslama yaratir. limitleri zorlayan, derdini en provakatif sekilde anlatan hardcore bir film. ara ara giren nefis muzigi olmasa izleyici kalp krizi-kismi felc gecirebilir.

Wow. Re-watched this again the other day. This is what cinema is about, just brilliant...ground breaking, sexually provoking, great acting with a wonderful quirky story. Overall a breath of fresh air, Hollywood and the sheep that follow can never have anything on films that challenge like this. This is cinema. A must see!

Takashi Miike's twisted documentary style fable about the power of motherhood saving a horribly dysfunctional family. It's a feverish and blackly funny vision of incest, necrophilia, scat, drug abuse and murder that somehow gets washed away a deluge of purifying mother's milk. Who is the mysterious Visitor Q and what does he represent? Beyond being the catalyst of the mother's empowerment, I haven't the faintest idea. A lactation fetishists wet dream.

It's fairly obvious and uninspired social commentary, but fuck if Miike doesn't know how to make a movie. He almost got me with the corpse shitting mid-rape, but I hung in there.

disturbing, haunting, offensive, funny, nasty, absurd, interesting and the list could go on.
this is one of those movies that let's you feel a lot of extremes and leaves you with your feelings without
telling you what to do with them. Is this movie good or bad? I really could'nt tell you.
Was it interesting and worth my time? I think so.
It feels like a very VERY dark comedy that works as a metaphore for.. something. Note: it was discusting!

My fourth Miike and so far his W-L record is 1-2-1 (Audition is the tie) so I have to say I don't think I really like him, but his stuff is so immensely different from anything I have seen that I will probably watch more of his stuff. This movie though, is more of a bore than a shocker, with only its complete and utter derangement to keep me from dismissing it completely and giving it a lower score.

From the start i knew i loved this movie and the icing on the cake was when he fucked a dead chick and got shit on. The erotic lactating scenes are my all time favorite scenes involving dairy products in a movie.

VERY FUNNY. It's a parody of Reality Television, and shows the importance of family. I really like the way this movie was put together and how everything fell into place. I have told all my friends about this movie, it is really good. (Though it can be disturbing if you're not prepared)

Vascilates between being dull and being absolutely fucking disgusting while also having possibly THE darkest sense of humor a film has ever wholeheartedly embraced. There are moments that will leave you confused whether you want to laugh or puke.

Can't be very impressed when a film so short and so peculiar can be mostly so boring. Got a few good laughs towards the end but not much more. Even the shock value is minimal, unless needles and lactation make you squeamish.

Even with the terribly low budget, somewhat amateurish camerawork, and blatant button pushing you can tell Miike has a real talent in making everything cohere into a bizarre but strangely compelling world. It's not the kind of film I want to watch and there's not much to get out of it, but it has that quality where you can't look away, even though you know it's made explicitly for that purpose. I could describe what's on screen easily enough, but the experience of watching it is indescribable.

Takashi Miike's twisted take on the idea of a family drama, maybe?. Really messed up and creepy. Not one of my favourites of his, but my wife thinks this is one of his best movies. Definitely worth a shot if you like his style.

I simply don't get it. Amatorial quality and sensationalism. It has some good (dark humor) scenes, but throughout the movie i can't stop to ask to myself "why? what's the point? make crazy scenes for the pleasure to make it? so why i'm watching this Miike masturbation on a self-home-made gore-porn?". Sorry Miike, i watch it until the end, but I still prefer normal sex. Operation failed, i guess.

A unique film, I'll give it that. It's oddly languid in its pacing, which I didn't appreciate, but as the creatively disturbing story unfolds itself, I started to warm to it. A few good new ideas in this, not all of them disgusting.

Exploitative to the point of being uncomfortable to watch at times; probably the most fast-forward friendly Miike flick I've seen so far. The concept is actually interesting and the movie is occasionally hilarious--albeit more so in retrospect than anything--but I sure didn't enjoy watching most of it.

Mostly shock for shock's sake. Although2 be fair the shocks do help keep you awake as this is paced 2 induce maximum lethargy. I had to fast forward through most of it & yet I got the gist. (What does that tell u?) Taboo-breaking made dull. 2 enjoy this, u'd have to be an uber-arthouser who thinks anything original- no matter how easy - is "Art". Couldn't we just give these specious musers some colored ink blots 2 mull over instead? They're much cheaper than film& equally open to interpretaion.

I strongly suspect that Miike is the worst director in the entire world. It's uncanny how he consistently manages to make all manner of sex and violence really dull, and how boneheaded and cruel his movies consistently come across as being. His usual ugly images are made even worse by the fact that they're shot on video this time

Amaturish quality to this one, I think it was shot in digicam, and during one particular dinner scene an uncareful boom person repeatedly dangled a mic into the frame. But I don't mind that stuff. I've seen ickier and more violent movies than this, but they didn't pretend to be anything they're not. As a stylized allegory, this is way beyond gratuitous, it's just pure sensationalism and to me represents everything that's wrong (and none of what's right) with Miike's filmmaking.
