When it was released in 1928, this would be classified as a celebrity movie. Starring Marcial Lalanda, a famous bullfighter, who also wrote this nearly 3-hour epic! Very ambitious, and I'm sure Lalanda's ego was satisfied with this bullfighter story. But it wasn't like Spanish film making in the silent era was very adventurous from a technical and narrative aspect. The result becomes very ordinary and therefore exhaustingly dull considering how long it is.
