Zucco and Lugosi are paired well together in a decently shot flix. There are some extensive voodoo rituals and Carradine plays comic relief as the mentally challenge henchman. Best of the worst all around. [Rifftrax is very good, delivering some more fresh puns. Lugosi seems to bring out the best in our boys.]

Goofy fun but seems too slow even with its short run time.

Shot in the same year as Return of the Ape Man, Voodoo is a more competently made Monogram cheapie that if anything is guilty of being more bland than bad, at least in its lesser moments. Lugosi owns his role and makes it watchable, and even Carradine pulls his weight, despite sleepwalking through Return. If you're a fan of Lugosi, you could certainly do worse. That's hardly a ringing endorsement, but this was 1944 after all.

Carradine is nicely craven and retarded in this one (with a real hair fetish). And McKay is quite perky and sexy. You gotta love that head witchdoctor guy, decked out in a bespangled kimono and wearing a headdress that resembles an exploded chicken.

Wildly entertaining at points, a little slow at others (all the shots of folks driving and repetition of the voodoo rituals). Bela Lugosi is entertaining as always, and John Carradine is a lot of fun as the wacky henchman. Carradine reminds me a bit of Crispin Glover with that wiry body and understated intensity. Still, the pacing hurts even such a brief movie (barely over an hour), as does some wooden acting at points by the protagonists.

There was certainly some madness going on in this cheap Monogram horror picture. Bela Lugosi as a mad doctor, John Carradine as a bongo drummer and George Zucco as a witch doctor. There was a lot of terrible acting here too, but the famous guys brought their game to this nonsense!
