Wagon Heels

Besides being not funny (as usual for Looney Tunes), the fact that the Indian Wars were actually a gross mismatch in the palefaces' favor makes the whole "Injun Joe, Superchief" thing sick and ugly. Imagine an animation of the *real* story with voices by Mel Blanc. "Oh, gawrsh, I got smallpox, just like everybody else in the village. *dies*"

Weird how of all the main Looney Tunes characters I end up liking Porky Pig the best. That being said this just wasn't funny just kinda sad.

God damn, what a bad one. I can hardly take the jaw-dropping racism of the opening and closing narration seriously, but the content suggests it's sincere, or at least meant to appeal to that perception of westward expansion. In this case the racism isn't just another gag, it's virtually the purpose of the toon. Even that aside, it's still obnoxious, with Clampett cramming in non sequitur references and random wackiness apropos of nothing instead of drawing humor out from the story.

That's not how the west was won.
