I think it would have been a vast improvement to abruptly end the movie in the first act with a message that said "you have died of dysentery".

This was disappointing. The cast was promising in a quirky, b-list manner (I didn't realise Richard Lewis existed outside of Curb Your Enthusiasm), but my word was this dull, and painfully unfunny. Candy was far from at his best, so it was a shame that this was to be his swansong.

Wagons East! is a witless, toothless satire of Westerns that falls far below the standard set by Blazing Saddles, and is notable only for being John Candy's final screen performance.

John Candy deserved better than he got towards the end of his career.

A few laughs but most of it is simply not funny.

After seeing this, I was fairly certain there was never going to be another John Candy masterpiece again.

Unfunny.

Absolutely boring and horrendous. Candy should be ashamed for being a part of this film. Thankfully, he didn't live to see its performance in the box office.
