Priceless movie, how two people defraud the national lotto commission. Its an original movie, one of a kind. Completely entertaining. The cinematography, background score and the acting all fit in perfectly. A really entertaining movie that one and all should see.

fantastic cinematography, and pretty good acting. it's definitely worth a watch, and isn't going to be forgotten any time soon, but should never be praised as anything more than a good watch.

Delightful, funny movie that spends a little too much time on the subplot.

A little bit cheesy, but I still loved it. I want to move to the town where this was filmed.

Good, saw it a long time ago, only remember the scene with the naked old man riding the motorcycle, also remember it was a good movie.

A fun movie. Curiously, it was shot on the Isle of Man and subsidized by Manx money. But they couldn't sell that abroad so had to pretend it was Ireland.

"It's this edge which has hustled the movie deserved elbow room in the multiplexes alongside more expensive and cinematic productions, and as the twin revelations of a wonderfully unexpected pay-off prove, in the end there's no substitute for wit, invention and real, priceless humour."

Even if the whole movie were just a set-up for a punchline (which it isn't)--still, WHAT a punchline!

YTS.

I'm assuming this is the one about a dead guy winning the lottery and some village trying to claim the cash. If so, not a bad film but occaisionally threatens to fall over with "to be sure, to be sure" Oirish 'whimsy' which can get a little twee after a while.

A wonderfully quirky premise (Michael's initial deception is hilarious) fits nicely within the charming seaside setting and its odd old Irish country-bumpkin characters (Michael and Jackie and their naked motorcycle rides are priceless), while occasionally taking secretly delightful turns to startlingly black comedy (see Lizzy's applauded telephone booth death). Its briefness, meanwhile, would sit better if it wasn't for the completely irrelevant romantic side-plot with Pig Finn and Maggie.
