Goony guy: "I'll tell you, the amount of [23-year old virgins] who got laid from these protests happening is in the THOUSANDS. That would not have for years, probably." Expert: "That's why these protests were so important."" lol. 4chan is reprehensible and unfunny, and Something Awful actually kicked off the anti-Scientology stuff, but yeah, they did good work on that. Haven't watched the whole thing yet, but the above quote was so terribly edited together that it was hilarious.

Seems to be a lot of Anon stuff coming, this and the book We Are Anonymous, both this year. Anyway: Anon and 4chan is just fascinating by itself, as it leaves a lot to discuss just by existing, but where the movie shines is the fact that while it's obviously pro-Anon, it's pretty self-critical in the same way. Being this way allows it to show what it is, and why it's both good and bad in the grand scheme of things. It'd be worse if the whole thing was just YEAH WE FUCKIN' ROCK WE DID THIS!

Good overview. Kind of goes through the entire syncretism of computer geeks and social workers. 4chan - /b/ - reddit - Anonymous - Project Chanology - Lulzsec - prosecutions, it shows the most vital parts.

Somewhat interesting, although a bit unfocused and overly preachy

Interesting and informative documentary about Anonymous, it focuses mostly on the hacktivism parts and tells the whole thing in chronological order, which I really enjoyed. I have mixed feelings about Anonymous and while this documentary perhaps did portray them a bit too positively, I still think this is a fairly balanced documentary. Protecting the internet and fighting back against oppressive government are worthy causes. But how far do you have to go? Interesting topic, recommended watch.

A good documentary on the history of Anonymous. Good use of archive footage and interviews, quite liked it.

This documentary is heavily one sided, not deep and doesn't give a fresh perspective, on the good side it makes you remember how internet has affected the world.

A well-crafted, if meandering, documentary on what is rightly framed as an entirely new form of protest. Not sure how much of that is coming from me being in on the ground floor of the movement, though.

The editing makes it seem a little more preachy than it could have been at times, but overall it was quite a balanced introduction to one of the most interesting and influential internet phenomena.
