I have no sympathy for extremely untalented teenagers who pretend to be the best, even if they are from Sweden.

The most punk thing in life is friendship. And hating gym class. A hilarious romp through rebellion, and the bond of being friends and believing in yourself and knowing that, no matter what other people might say, you are the best.

Honest and smile inducing. Nothing fancy but fantastic performances from the three leads. Hate the sport (!).

Fuck 'em up, kids. These girls' lives aren't nearly as harrowing as those that many child-centered dramas concoct, or even as exciting, but it's not about triumphing over ham-fisted adversity. It's about friendship, belonging, identity, rebellion for its own sake, and rock's ability to bring those things together. It makes a brief misstep near the end that flirts too much with conventionality but it course-corrects beautifully into a kickass ending. A really charming and honest film.

A spirited and intimately affecting take on early adolescence and female friendship. It embraces the raucous joyfulness of youth and steers clear of coming-of-age cliches. And yes, I hated P.E./gym class, too.

Moodysson is back to small-scale stories of genuine teenage emotions, and although it doesn't scale the heights of Fucking Amal it still captures the down-to-earth feeling. Largely unremarkable, however.

Not among Moodysson's best, nor his worst. At first it's fun to watch a couple of weird pre-teens acting up, improvising, and having a lark in front of Moodysson's trademark intimate handheld camera with documentary-like jump cuts. For a brief moment it almost feels like Tilsammans is going to be remade. But ultimately the characters and story just don't have enough to offer - no drive, no urgency, no emotional stakes. It ends up feeling overlong, and boy does the music suck too...

Moodysson is back! It's basically Rookie Mag: the Movie, which is perfectly fine for me. For the first time in 13 years he isn't flagellating himself or the audience with overwrought drama. Its sweetness does renders it a little too inconsequential. Not quite as perfect as Linda Linda Linda, but at least Moodysson isn't stuck in a contrived "serious" dramatic world anymore.

It's just such a damn funny and light-hearted movie. It really captures growing up and being a kid and the chemistry between the main trio feels very real. It doesn't feel scripted, it's just kids being kids, but with a very respectable punk attitude to boot. It's got some beautiful shots, though the focus is really on the girls. I also could recognize all those 80s moods here, having grown up in that era myself. This movie is just a lot of fun. The teenage problems are real.

Not a hollywood film. Took a long time to finish this to be in the right mood.

Delightful! I found myself captivated by the mostly petty conflicts that play out over the course of this movie, perhaps because they were depicted in such a realistic and lively way. The rebellious main characters are fantastic, and the adults are as adults are through the eyes of young teenagers: stupid, addicted to order and set on making everything unnecessarily complicated.

Bordering on being a stupid kids movie made sophisticated only by being in a foreign language... it was a lot of fun and well-acted, even if a bit... silly.

Doesn't quite pack the punch of Moodysson's best, but it's still both a convincing period piece and a very nice tribute to the naivite of youth. It makes its points without hammering them home, and you can't really go wrong with KSMB on the soundtrack.

A cinematic firecracker. Unfortunately I have known multiple people who can't fathom why I love punk music and in some ways, this film holds all of the answers. It has the spirit, the heart and the soul of punk all wrapped in a tight, lively and lovable coming-of-age story.

We Are The Best! doesn't hold your hand through a pleasant succession of coming-of-age cliches but instead screams, kicks and spits its way through a wholly refreshing portrayal of adolescent rebellion and search for identity.

An honest and funny look at youth from the perspective of three punk preteen girls bonding and coming to grips with life through a mutual love for music and rebellious attitude. Full of energy and refuses to play by the rules of modern day filmmaking tropes.

Hate the sport! I enjoyed my time here, watching these 3 little girls (THAT DIDN'T SOUND CREEPY) act up, form a punk band and have fun, because they did have chemistry together. It was pretty lighthearted but I wasn't as into it as I wish I could have be. I don't even know if there's a specific reason why it left me feeling a little more cold than it should have; maybe because I didn't find it that funny nor did the drama overly engage me. Still a well acted and shot movie.

Engaging story and great young actors. Although it was a believable scenario, wish their main conflict wasn't over boys. I much preferred their interactions with the older band and community center staff.
