Welcome to the Quiet Room

I really enjoyed this one: think of a cross between One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Happiness of the Katakuris. A very enjoyable film which manages to combine comedy and a serious plot very effectively; it sounds simple, but I've watched enough films to know that many fail. This one, however, works!

Outwardly simple... and as a puzzle box is.... deceptive. I won't rewatch this (hence the lower score) but neither will I forget it. Uchida Yuki acts up a storm as the troubled Asuka Sakura, in a women's mental asylum but unsure why and how. The story gradually reveals the (unjust?) mechanics but I'm still not sure whether DELETED SPOILER. It's deep but never dull. I didn't, during the watch, "get" the comedy that most see, though once mentioned it's easily remembered. Def watch this and wonder.

In this mishmash of japoweirdness it's hard to find some kind of emotional relevancy, though at times it comes close. Original, still forgetable.
