It's like a backwards telling of American Beauty. Instead of a "normal" family being dissected by a screenplay that happily shouts, "We're all screwed up! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???" It takes a bunch of people that are screwed up and turns them into a "normal" family. Jennifer Aniston has a smoking hot strip scene that got me about as excited as that time I found a penny in a urinal and obviously decided it was not worth it.

Above average comedy thanks to a solid cast and a few good laughs. Not all of the jokes work and the movie does seem pretty tame given the premise. I'll probably never watch it again, but it was fun while it lasted.

It was humorous at times but there were few laugh out loud moments. Some very clever moments but an equal amount of not so great ones. Surprisingly, Jennifer Aniston at age 44 still has the body of a 19 year old. The movie moves quickly but little of it was convincing. Being promised half a million dollars for a few small bundles of pot was at the top of utterly ridiculous. It was quite cheesy how they wrapped it all up. Not terrible, but not great either. Slightly more than half was good.

I'm not usually into pothead/whacky antics/slapstick/Jackass type of humour, but underneath all the crassness, there were moments of genuine heartfeltness. I think one character "change of heart" moment was treated terribly, without enough ground for the character to have done so, but overall, I enjoyed the performances. "You guys are getting paid?"

A bitter, cynical film, but not in the way you'd think - cynical with respect for its actors and characters, and by reflection, us too, for taking this drivel as 'fun'. The plot is too wafer-thin for me to give a solid crap, and I felt no need to see these characters to their charted, plotted, simplistic conclusion.

Hit-and-miss vulgar comedy, I sniggered and groaned in equal measure. Felt like it should have been more cynical - the main characters were way too squeaky clean to be believable lowlifes, and the film never strayed very far from the sitcom happy family formula.

We're The Millers is a surprisingly enjoyable comedy that I wrongly assumed would be generic and forgettable. It is however a lot of fun and I enjoyed myself. Jason Sudeikis is very funny and carries the film well. And Jennifer Aniston isn't her usual carbon copy self and is enjoyable also. The concept is ridiculous and the whole thing shouldn't be taken too seriously. But it's harmless and undeniable fun that I would more than happily watch again. And Aniston is a stripper. Enough said.

At first you would say this is just like ANY other random comedy, and true, it is. This film doesnt' get this high score for its originality, but for using the same elements other comedies do and being better than the others. Here we get a perfect example of a comedy which isn't just some cheesy, slacky story with some attempts at humor, no. This story is told a million times before, but this time it's just better. You can say the same things about the characters, the situations they get into...

I really love these characters and just wish they had been given a better script to move around in. If we were to get a much more tightly written sequel I'd be sure to see it because all four of the main actors are stellar and play off each other perfectly. Everything else just doesn't carry them far enough.

Hilarious mix of aughts raunch and 80s family comedy takes a high concept and runs with it, giving its terrific cast multiple opportunities to score big laughs (the somewhat deflating blooper reel shows how much credit should go to the writers!) Builds beautiful comic momentum by ingenious set-ups followed by long pay-offs while making its characters’ predictably evolving relationships believable and even sweet at times. Entire cast are top-notch, but Poulter’s gormless nerd is the stand-out.

This was quite fun; it could almost be pitched as Breaking Bad meets National Lampoon’s Vacation films. Sudakis was solid as was the whole cast, but Aniston was perhaps too clean cut for the role and someone with an edge would have worked better. As with 99% comedies, it would have worked even better 10-20mins shorter.

its difficult for me to find comedy movies that are really funny (and not just cringe). of course this movie is not the best of the genre, but it is good enough to have fun and a good time. Sudeikis is likable but never takes the reigns as the standout. That belongs to Aniston and Poulter. Overall the plot and the laughs were just slightly above average and there was nothing that was strikingly memorable from this film. It won't leave you clamoring for your next viewing but it does make you appreciate the comedies that do continuously make you laugh even after 10 or more viewings.

We're the Millers is a slow moving, hit and miss comedy for the most part. The four main performers carry the film well. And seeing Jennifer Aniston in an against type role again is a joy. If nothing else the movie serves as a perfectly serviceable road comedy in an age decidedly short on road comedies.

Much better than expected really - the chemistry was decent, majority of the jokes were decent too with some genuinely funny ones (and a few shallow cliches). Nick Offerman was a surprise and always a treat, but Sudekis wasn't half bad as a main lead either! The Millers is an above-average formulaic comedy, which says a lot - by default you can't expect more, because formulaic films are... formulaic. The post-credit Aniston joke was unexpected, superb and very fresh and rewarding too.

Had some fun gags, but is marred by the facts that a) the ending is sappy and clichéd b) I not emotionally invested in the fate of any of these asshats and c) Aniston is the worst stripper ever. I mean, in Sin City, Alba also hadn't figured out that strippers are supposed to take off their clothes, but at least she had some good moves, but Aniston was just an embarrassment to watch.

The four leads are each loveable and hilarious in their own way, and have great chemistry together, while Helms, Offerman, and Hahn make up a solidly funny supporting cast. The plot is perfect (albeit a little too perfect) for providing good amounts of humour (often wonderfully shocking and raunchy) while simultaneously setting it up for a touching happy ending. Jennifer Aniston hucking the pot baby onto the highway was a standout laugh-out-loud moment among many in this great road-trip comedy.

We're the Millers is a silly, silly movie, but if certain kinds of unrealistic, sophomoric, physical humor don't offend your sensibilities all by themselves, there is some excellent comic acting to redeem it, by the whole cast but especially by Jennifer Aniston. Much better than anyone should have expected.

'We're the Millers' strives for edgy and big-hearted, but never really gets there. A lot of its profane masquerading comes across forced, and the film works better when the actors are simply allowed to give their characters room for organic comedy rather than when they're saddled with a slew of f-bombs and dick jokes. The cast works well together and several moments do stand out, but the movie ultimately fails to leave a lasting impression.

I didn't really like it. I didn't expect much, but it was still disappointing as what a comedy these days is. The plot is very thin, the jokes are tired, and the emotion they try to insert doesn't work. I've also come to realise I really don't care for Jason Sudeikis. The rest of the cast are okay. The funniest part was the outtake in the credits of the "Friends" prank they pulled on Jennifer Aniston. Overall, I didn't hate it, but I did find it boring and not very likable.

It's easy to get the point of mocking the perfect, WASP, suburban and happy family going places in an RV -- the Millers are just the same, except for carrying tons of pot --, but every dysfunctional, fucked up aspect of these four characters seem worn out by its long duration and the insistence of turning this into a satire of vacation films. Dirty, but moralistic. Aniston is on fire, and Will Poulter is simply the lucky bastard of the year -- you know, he kissed Emma and Jen in the same couch.

Eh. The cast is pretty good and it has amusing moments but it's not particularly hilarious, the plot is overly familiar and all over the place, and it has no right being as long as it is. It's odd in the sense that the material seems so raunchy and vulgar on paper (drug dealers, strippers, incest jokes, penises and more), but the film feels very sanitized and safe. Maybe this is the post-"Hangover" world of R-rated comedy? It's weird how little FUN the film has with its vulgarity.
