The great (silent) screen lover as a bitter drunken woman trasher! Probable more accurate to the real Gilbert. Part of the story is about him being on the road to drinking himself to death, something he was doing in real life, and therefore uncomfortable to watch. Watch him having the drunken shivers when dumping his wife! Lois Moran in her last Hollywood movie and it's difficult to understand why. Not bad at all. Not a top movie, but is well acted even with the clear B-material given by MGM.
