When Taekwondo Strikes

Angela Mao has lots of nice fights scenes and is the true gem in this. Lots of niponese getting their asses handed to them by foreign girls, so endless entertainment in that regard. Overall a rather bland film with recommendable features.

I <3 Angela Mao. Above average fu flick from the early 70's with a few big names and a great korean kicker named Jhoon Rhee. Mao shines here and Sammo Hung gets beat up by a white girl! Avoid the english dub, it's terrible, instead seek out the widescreen DVD with subs.

Those who are amused by awfulness will love the ridiculous script and hammy acting. If you're in it for the fighting though it's got pretty decent stuff for 1973. Korean master Jhoon Rhee shows off a bit when he's not being captive and tortured, and particularly Angela Mao displays nice Hapkido/Taekwondo chops against rivals including a villainous Sammo Hung, who unfortunately doesn't do anything much apart from getting his ass handed to him. I kinda liked "Hapkido" better.
