When We First Met isn't unwatchable and it's the type of moderately pleasant movie that fits perfectly on a platform like Netflix, where you can sort of half-watch it while doing household chores and not really miss anything. It wouldn't be worth the price of admission, but if we're not paying anything additional? Maybe it's worth it for the high-concept (if unoriginal) premise and the eventual messages it has.

When We First Met is a funny, romantic comedy that does the Groundhog Day schtick. Adam Devine is great in this movie. I've never really like Alexandra Daddario in anything and this movie doesn't really change my mind about her abilities. I've never seen Andrew Bachelor in anything before but his performance in this movie turned me into a fan. While the story was rote, it did provide enough variety to keep me interested and I was somewhat surprised by the twist. It's not perfect but a keeper.

Appreciated the ending and really enjoyed the premise, but there's just something dislikable about Adam Devine for this role.

Cute premise but given the cast, I thought it would be funnier.

It definitely could have been rated lower due to a sagging second act, but then it follows up with some decent twists. I just can't hate Adam Devine. Alexandra Daddario is beautiful but doesn't really do much here. I'm glad I was introduced to Shelley Hennig. There was definitely a How I Met Your Mother vibe.

I guess you could say I'm a fan of Adam Devine, or to be exact I like Workaholics and Modern Family, plus I enjoyed a couple episodes of that house party show he hosted. As a standalone lead he does surprisingly well. Sure the plot is rather derivative, but its nice to see a mostly well made Romantic Comedy for guys.

The flick was well directed, acted, and generally build. But the story was cheesy and predictable.

Devine works really well here. He always straddles a line for me for sure, but here he works. He's great as a man out of water, great reaction quips for sure. Handles the changing of peoples lives through time travel decently well since Devine doesn't come off as an absolute psycho. The stuff about fate and having to live your life so xyz can happen rings a bit hollow with how the film ends up going.

Commediola sentimentale con un pizzico di fantasy, prevedibile e zuccherosa ma piacevole

I'm a big fan of Devine, so no surprise that I enjoyed this. What was surprising, though, was that it's a rom-com in which I actually did not know where it was going into well into the second act. Also, like many rom-coms, it relies heavily on the "best friends" of the leads for most of the humor, and the two here do not disappoint.

The best of recent Groundhog Day ripoffs, buoyed by Devine's performance.

What a joke movies have become. A wholly encompassing parody, endlessly humoring itself. How many times have I seen groundhog day already? Where do there Hollywood perverts get the nerve to push the same rebranded product again and again through talentless hacks with minimal to no changes to the major elements of story. They should be ashamed of themselves. This is in my honest opinion the lowest form of entertainment legally available in the west. Their dispair over filming this is visceral.

It was not that bad. Just a time loop romcom. The time travel aspect I will always enjoy.

This time travel/timeloop-schtick has been done a lot better, it's underdeveloped but passable.

Throw away rom-com saved by time travel tie in and Adam Devine's, love it or hate it style of "acting"

It is really hard not to find Adam Devine really funny. At times he was both comedic and dramatic and it really worked. It plays with fate, change and the affects of emotional connections with people. A solid cast with enough laughs to keep you invested, it may not transcend into the level of great comedy but Devine does do a great job carrying most of the load on his shoulders for most of the film.
