Dated, with lots of Biblical references I didn't like (But I guess if the world's gonna crash into something you're gonna get biblical)

Sort of terrible - but definitely in a good way.

This hasn't aged very well, but it's still pretty entertaining and engaging in some parts. The effects are sometimes great, but later on there are wires visible on the rocket (which isn't really a bad thing) and the last scene features a horrible matte painting that looks more like the background to an animated film.

While some of the science is wrong, the concept is intriguing. The effects are pretty good for the time the film was made. This is what it's like when worlds collide.

Finally got to see this sci-fi classic. Great effects for the day, good drama and performances. Fun movie!

not bad considering the date... one of the first examples of `the world s gonna end` movies...actually I think its better than `2012` in many ways

A runaway star collides with the Earth, but it's okay because about 40 boring white people manage to escape to safety. The best parts of this movie are the scenes of carnage in the second half, which feature some impressive miniature work. Unfortunately, like a lot of '50s sci-fi, the first half is men in lab coats standing around hand-wringing about a vague doomsday. Richard Derr made me laugh a few times, but I spent most of the movie bored, waiting for the major setpieces to start happening.

aka - "The Ultimate in White Flight! When the Suburbs Just Aren't Far Enough!" As I've seen noted, this flick didn't age well for a few reasons, but the most glaring is the complete absence of diversity. Of course, that's true of most movies of that era, but when your premise is about saving a portion of the population in a space ark, it's particularly conspicuous. Fairly decent from a technical standpoint, however. Good looking 50's sci-fi.

Good Sci fi and considering when it was made well worth a watch.

One of the original disaster movies. What strikes me, was how serious they took it. The idea might seem gimmicky, but When Worlds Collide (1951) is a film that oozes respect in all aspects. The acting, the approach to the problems, and on top of that, the special effects look great! Might not be a film that spectacular cast wise, but everything is done with care and a sense of realism.
