A good film that shows what alcoholism can do to a family. Great performances by both Andy Garcia and Meg Ryan.

Kind of torn. It's actually a pretty good depiction of recovering from addiction and the ways that others can be completely oblivious to what it's like. But it's also that chalky, 90's Nora Ephron-lite ham.

Yeah, it's sappy, melodramatic and not great movie making but it's a satisfying intensity to the proceedings. They push a lot of easy emotional buttons but I'll give it a pass.
