When the Bough Breaks

Donald Kaufman territory to be sure, but the first half features some unusual/interesting/creepy stuff and the second goes off the rails in a way that I've never really seen before. The developments themselves are bizarre, but in a "safe" dumb-serial-killer-movie way; the interest (or rank incompetence) is in how it refuses to explain a single thing about its absurd story, instead relying on an elaborate series of visual reveals to vaguely communicate very seriously something verrry silly.
