While She Was Out

WOW. Amazing Lifetime meets Last House on the Left trashfest. Kim Basinger is hysterical as the bored suburban housewife 'in peril' who brutally slaughters a bunch of kids with her toolbox. Is this the first 'rape/revenge' movie with no rape at all? Kim barely gets a wound the whole movie and actually ends up way SCARIER than the bunch of so-called thugs harassing her (Lukas Haas lol). A new Christmas classic.

I have to admit that I DID enjoy watching this movie. . , MAINLY BECAUSE of how bad it was! Kim Basinger is chased through the woods while easily lugging a red toolbox with her (as if it were a basket)! One by one, the gang members who are trying to kill her corner her and she yanks something out of the toolbox and whacks them with it. Though not meant to be funny, the whole premise is pathetically humorous. THIS is bad movie-making at its best!

Lot of poor decision making going on in this one, makes it all less plausible.

A pretty modern Little Riding Hood story, which got several good points but busts them all during the way. The first half is sick boring and the end action creates non kind of arc it shoud. The frame story does not give anything for the rest of the movie. Disappointed.

The poor man's Eden Lake mixed with very extreme cliché female fantasies.

Completely unrealistic in the worst way. The whole movie ended up being boring and really made no sense. You pretty much know within the first ten minutes how the movie ends and then it doesn't even do that right.

technically it's decent, if the protagonist werent the most inefficent escapist i have ever seen it could be good, but she often falls into the same cliche's that have populated these movies for about thirty years. i always have a soft spot, though, for persecuted protagonists fighting back, which she does, and satisfyingly to boot.

This one ended up much better than I thought. Basinger is a women tired of being walked on, and when some stalkers try to make her a victim, she strikes back.

"While she was out" is an old style- woman-revenge movie. I was really surprised by its cleverness. It reminds me on the good old exploitation movies from the 70's. ( guts of a virgin or don't go in the woods for example. ) Movies like these are very rare for today.

Okay Movie

Eden Lake did it a whole lot better.
