Whity

Some of this feels like a nightmare, most of it is just barely scraping by.

Doesn't quite get where its reaching, but it has some really disturbing and complicated moments, as well as a few really really beautiful shots.

I want to like Fassbinder. But like Guy Maddin, he makes films that are visually striking but desperately in need of a good writer. The cinematography is amazing, particularly the use of lighting and color. But the story is a sophomoric look at racism, complete with "ironic" black-face and white-face (and blue-face). I don't like Westerns to begin with, and I certainly don't like German melodramatic Westerns. I usually hate the term "artsy-fartsy," but in this case it applies.

Aqui Fassbinder faz o serviço dos americanos trazendo a catarse da revolta da senzala contra a casa grande em seu estilo mais do que bem vindo. DVDRip no MakingOff.
