Zoomer bubblegum hyperpop cinema. Emotions lost to a sea of screens, colors, branding, empty nostalgia. Leaps between first-person/second-person/third-person, intricate musical scenes and iPhone pisstakes, and just about every genre imaginable with the attention span of a goldfish. Irony as a defensive shield to survive in a world plagued by individualism.

If you're into constant noise, kids screaming, pure distortion and your ears and eyes bleeding - this might be your thing. If you don't like to eat shit for breakfast - stay away.

Plays fast and loose with a few different genres, tones and styles. Soundtrack is mostly chiptune, which works well, and leads to some oddly effective scenes, while also reflecting the gameness of their lives/life in general. Good performances and there's a kinetic energy to the film that Nagahisa manages to mould into something watchable. A very 2000s movie; you might have handycam footage one moment, but truly memorable, well-shot scenes creep in occasionally too. Original but challenging.
