Wicked City

Yuck! Men in Black with today's Will Smith energy- heinous stuff. Not a fun watch, I usually share what I watch in an Instagram story but this is one that gets swept under the rug - but not all the way because I have to log it here to pump these numbers up

There's a couple of memorable graphically violent action scenes, but overall has an off-putting rapey vibe.

Some cool action shots contained within an incredibly annoying and boring narrative structure. And Giuseppi Mayart can fuck off and die. What a horrible character.

The writer was clearly horny while making this and it's low brow in general, but I can't help but dig its depraved erotic visuals. A lot of the time, it's so gross that trying to find any arousal in it is difficult. But that's what makes it so cool! Really makes me wish this film wasn't lacking in pretty much every other area aside from its visuals because it's rare to see any film use nudity in such an artistically grotesque way.

While low-brow in plotting and with respect to it's gruesome and exploitative sex and violence it also sports quite a wicked sense of style. Not as lavish, but I'd argue that the cyberpunk world here is as fleshed out as those evoked in Akira, or GitS. Also keenly edited and paced until a somewhat protracted finale.

Good old anime mayhem to watch with friends.

First 'scary' manga I saw. Pretty cool :)

The story is a hodgepodge of clumsy world-building, unconvincing romance, and comic relief, but it's worth watching for some sometimes-great animation.

I'd think more highly of WC if not for the pornographic nature of a central rape scene.

Visually impressive even in its most static scenes. And when it gets graphic, hooooo boy. Maybe ahead of its time genre-wise, doing urban fantasy in the now-familiar Men In Black mode: regulation of the paranormal as a secretive but unglamorous job that one just sort of falls into. Story is bog-standard demon fighting and the characters are, well, cartoon characters, running on about two adjectives apiece.

Quiet boring & emotionless...left me cold. Seen much better Anime's in my life.

I loved the themes and plot twists.

Raunchy and highly entertaining action/sci-fi anime.

The story's a bit silly, but the animation quality makes up for it.
