A tongue-in-cheek psycho movie in "Duo-vision." The entire feature employs the split-screen technique used in parts of Brian De Palma's "Sisters" that same year. As a handyman at a seacoast hotel, Randolph Roberts wears a monster mask while he kills and dismembers women with blond hair. Tiffany Bolling is a singer, Scott Brady is a detective and Edd "Kookie" Burns is a lifeguard. The music is the original organ score for the silent film "Phantom of the Opera." (imdb)

Why has no one seen this? It's actually so much fun.

Oh duo-vision you weren’t meant for this world. When they go insane with the concept (flashback frames are king here) it works great, other than that it is a mess. Double the disappointment *Tosses Gene Shalit into the dip*

I'll honestly give them props for experimenting and trying stuff out. The film is definitely very messy, and the "duo-vision" doesn't really work all the time (or most of the time, pretty much), but when it does it's a treat to watch and I can appreciate the effort that went into it. The story is also okay, nothing particularly remarkable but it's there.

This is a really schlocky horror/comedy film, and I had some good fun with it. It's a slasher film, but the the slasher elements are relatively minor. The big 'hook' for the film when it was released, was that it was presented in "DUO-VISION", which actually just means split screen. And that was sometimes used effectively, sometimes just an annoying distraction, and sometimes hilarious. It's probably not good or funny enough to recommend, but I enjoyed watching it, for sure.

A brilliant bit of filmic goofiness from the early 70s. Not sure if this counts as “meta-cinema” but it sure is delightfully—and wickedly—bent.

Distractions do occur with the split-screen, but overall this is a decent little weird gem from the 70s.

This mess of a movie is nothing more than another reason to hate the 70's.

When the gimmick works, it's very enjoyable and you can tell they wanted to be creative, they are some nice experiments here. But the true potential of the idea wasn't explored sufficiently, creating some awkward moments of nothingness
