Wide Open

A rare leading role for one of the top supporting actors in 30s cinema, Edward Everett Horton. He plays a bachelor who gets compromised by a naked lady in his home. Wide Open isn't one of those laugh-out-loud comedies, it's pleasant one. Typical 1930 film with plenty lacking, but Horton is such a fine comic actor that him just being there doing his thing gives this enough foundation to float on. His leading lady is Patsy Ruth Miller. She does okay but it's pretty much Horton's movie all the way.
