Kay Francis's final film! I've seen them all with the exception of Illusion (1929), which is still locked up in a archive somewhere. She was one of the institutions of Hollywood in the 1930s. A very bankable star. The 1940s wasn't as kind to her, but her films were still watchable. Says something that Wife Wanted (1946) was made by Monogram and it was as good as this. She had a standard and always delivered. Thankfully she didn't end up like the actress she was playing in this dating scam.
