Flat, unappealing dramedy has occasional echoes of HAROLD AND MAUDE in Sives’ comically over-the-top attempts at the title act, but the reaction of the other characters seems to imply we should be taking the anguish seriously; becomes at least marginally more involving once Henderson arrives, but because our heroes are universally insular introverts, it becomes very difficult to become emotionally invested in the grim proceedings. Davis’ comparatively gregarious doctor is a welcome addition!

I really liked the atmosphere of the bookshop, the idea of the plot and also the characters. Yet, I found myself dissatisfied with the happy turn of the story in the very end - it just didn't feel authentic to me, almost wrong. But maybe that's just me being all pessimistic about life and other positive crap...

Man.... it's movies like this that remind me of why I hate British films. That being said in ignorance, this might not even be a British film. But it reminds me of why I hate British films anyway.

Would work a lot better if you could care about Wilbur more. He's just not that compelling or likeable of a guy, but maybe that's the point...

Funny and charming in the way Scherfig's films are, while also dealing with darker elements. Not her best, but still very sweet.

Having seen the film ... I can understand why! Contrived, flat and predictable.

My first movie with a mostly scottish cast. A nice weird mix of funny and sad, that gets more depressing the longer it goes on, when you stop laughing at their misery and become genuinely touched.

Director Scherfig has done brilliant job with this film. Its very enjoyable although the title and plot are pretty grim. Acting was also amazing.
