Thoroughly enjoyable antidote to the usual brit-gangster crap. A great script, terrific performances and strong characterisation made me really care about what could happen to this fragile family. Fletcher gets the balance of realism without miserablism while still carrying a positive (and uplifting) message.

I went in expecting a Guy Richie knockoff, with tiresome, try-hard humor and over-stylized directing, and was pleasantly surprised by how much this reminded me of Shane Meadows. It deserves comparison to films like This is England. Smart directing and an emotionally grounded script make this one hell of a debut.

Why did the trailers market this as some 'Snatch/Lock Stock' wannabe. A great little film, full of cliches, but still interesting enough to stand out. I look forward to Dexter Fletcher's next project

One shouldnt expect a Guy Ritchie kind of movie from Dexter Fletcher. He tries to create his own style of presenting the movie. For a first film it is really a good attempt. The story is simple and is packed with some very good acting by one and all. What makes this movie is the acting, presentation and the script. Overall a enjoyable movie, a good debut for Dexter Fletcher.

An impressive debut behind the camera from Dexter Fletcher. Whilst "Wild Bill" doesn't tread any new ground, and perhaps lacks a little bit of subtlety in places, it is undeniably full of great performances. It's very well written and shot too. Creed-Miles leads the film brilliantly and Andy Serkis' charismatic cameo-type appearance is absolutely the movies highlight.

What I learned from this movie: that there could be so many shades of grey. Move the setting to America, and everyone would have been shot in the first scene.

A crude description of Dexter Fletcher's directorial debut would be Shane Meadows crossed with Guy Ritchie, although the former's influence comes across as stronger and more welcome. A good cast - particularly Creed-Miles, who nails the lead - and decent story work to suck you in for the duration, even if it does try to throw in one too many characters/plot strands: failing to do any of them enough justice as a result. Promising things from Fletcher though.

Brit-gangster flicks are often tiresome, but Wild Bill serves a lot of heart to elevate it above many of the rest. Wonderful performances from the three male leads.
