Wild Zero

Feels like a reverse-engineered cult film, checking off as many B-movie tropes as possible (zombies, aliens, rock bands, shootouts) with a generous dose of Japaweirdness to boot. It's not very good or even narratively coherent, but a movie that ends with a rock star slicing a UFO in half with a guitar sword can't be all bad.

Aliens invade Earth causing a zombie outbreak, and only the impossibly awesome rock band Guitar Wolf can return things to normal. Pretty much 90 minutes of dudes driving around muscle cars and motorcycles in between bouts of striking cool poses, blowing away the undead, and extolling the powers of rock n' roll. It's got great tunes and funny comedy bits, plus a guy with a huge pompadour who gradually comes to accept the fact that he's in love with a tranny. Fun if you dig that sort of thing.

Wild Zero is basically the fucking shit. Invite some friends, get lots of booze and play the drinking game (http://www.angelfire.com/ak5/tymes/wildzero.html). I watched it alone and it was awesome. Exploding heads, awesome ending, microphone with fire shooting out of it, lazer eyes, UFO's that blow up, zombies with blue faces and much much more.

Surprisingly fun and acerbic zombie rock comedy, with lots of great music and a mind-melting set of plot twists. The DVD drinking game bumps this up to 100.

A bit slow in the middle, but this guitar-whaling, gun-totin', hair-combing, flame-spewing, zombie-poppin' B horror picture is a fucking grand ol' time. Will Captain get his revenge on Guitar Wolf? Will Ace ever kiss Tobio? What the hell is going on with the UFOs? Grab a few cases of brew, turn on the included drinking game and find out for yourself!

ACE NUMBER ONE MAN!

Haven't seen a lot of flicks more ridiculous and over the top than this one--and the ones that were sorely lacked Wild Zero's charm, presentation, and Guitar Wolf tunes.

Not crazy enough, sometimes manages to squeeze an occasional chuckle but mainly is just a bore. Feels like it's 3 hour long, what a drag

Rock n' Roll knows no boundaries in this whacked out and tripped up flix which mixes the zombies with a bit of 50's b-movie flavor and a drop of modern twists to make an excellent stew. And of course Guitar Wolf rocks my world, JET GENERATION!

That guitar samurai that split an entire UFO in half, yep enough said. Kick ass movie! Automatically one of my favorite movies of all time. ALLLLL TIIIMMMEEEEEE!!

Everything is ridiculous and infectious and fun as all fucking heck.

This was a lot more boring than I had hoped.

The most random f*^king movie you will ever see. Has pretty much everything really, and the music in it is pretty kick ass. I saw it on a vanilla disc though, so dunno about the drinking games and stuff

So preposterously goofy, but it's fun to laugh at.
