Wild in the Country

Melodrama that yearns to be Tennessee Williams but instead comes across as a bad episode of The Loretta Young Show. Elvis looks bored here, and the plot is a dead end spiral. Even knowing the film's original ending-- in which Elvis decided to end his own life-- doesn't do anything with the largely dull themes presented here. Not even worth fast forwarding.

Definitely not one of the most engaging Elvis Presley films - a serious story , somewhat dated now acted well enough by Elvis, but with songs and an unnecessary love interest thrown in because it’s Elvis!
