Winter Boy

Honoré's coming of age drama puts its leading character Lucas through the wringer, and newcomer Kircher is more than up to the challenge, a terrific performance that never misses a beat. Fine supporting work, not least by the wondrous Binoche. It's a harrowing film dealing with grief, but with a sense of humour that lightens the tone when it needs it most. When action switches to Paris, the film loses its way a little, but it regains steam for a powerful final act.

they sure slap a lot in this family, i mean yeah i guess they are very touchy feely physical like this and all but they hit and slap each other a lot, i wonder if the father was like that too
