I wish I lived in a world where I could pick up women by telling them about multiverses. Every multiverse though leads to Ryan Phillippe scrounging for scraps of garbage to sell so he can eat.

I bet her dad found a copy of this movie on one of his excursions...in a dumpster. Ryan Phillippe is a trash man. Not like in a job or humanity sense. He just digs through trash. Which is where you would find this movie. Because its garbage. Got some good laughs though.

I call it "Wait, if..." because every scene begins and ends with me shouting, "WAIT, If..." at my computer monitor. So bad it's garbage dad.

Praised by many as a so-bad-its-good-film, I have to strongly disagree! Most of the time its just bad, boring and lacks merit you would expect from quality trash

It just kind of goes through the motions here. You wait for wishes to be granted and it tries to build a compelling and emotional story but it fails. It tries for extraordinary deaths but it fails at that, and it certainly fails as a horror film. I'm a gigantic wimp and I didn't feel tension/fear in the least. I even watched it with headphones because I was afraid jump scares might be too loud and kill my rabbit, but I digress. I don't even think it would scare him and he's a prey animal.

A bland teen parable that has significantly more infamy than it deserves. No one in front of or behind the camera is doing their job properly but it's never bad enough to be interesting. It's as if the production decided to stick exclusively to crew and cast who were fresh out of movie school. To its credit, it implies that dogs are metaphysically equivalent to humans, which they are.

The movie felt like a dumber version of Final destination with younger and uglier cast but with the same sad acting capabilities. The ending however was... acceptable.

A monkey's paw story where the twist is the protagonist is really stupid and never figures out how making wishes works.

One of the rare teenager horror movie where the characters had a bit of substance (I said a bit) and could have almost been used for something. Otherwise, it is based on so many well known tropes (without being an anthology) that the viewer is just not surprised at all. It does Final Destination but badly.

I honestly don't understand why this film gets so much hate. By reputation, I was expecting something on the same level as Plan 9 or The Room. To be sure, It's not exactly a good movie. The writing is cliched and it certainly doesn't bring anything new to the "Be Careful What You Wish For" narrative. With that said, The film is at least competent. It's shot well enough, has a coherent story, decent acting, and some occasionally tense scenes. It was enough to keep me invested.

We wanted something bad and stupid to structure our alcohol-abuse around. Talk about a real monkey's paw horror story.

Wish Upon is your typical "filler-thriller". A soulless paint-by-numbers product that has some B-listers because the production company wanted to use them as bait and the actors themselves have a mortgage to pay. Normally this kind of bland, low effort trash would get a 2 or 3, but Wish Upon stands out because of the bizarre "this is what old people think teens sound like" dialogue and being unintentionally funny at times. The last two deaths are especially goofy.

I had to see this because regrettably I am a fan of Final Destination series. Too bad it turned out to be on a par with the worst Final Destination.

Easily the worst film of 2017. A schoolgirl gets a box that grants 7 wishes, which start off great but then go sour in a Monkey's Paw kinda way. But for each wish a price must be paid, and the price is BLOOD! This results in a series of Final Destination-style deaths. But while FD took wicked delight in setting up its hilarious "how will it happen?" death scenes, this simply kills people in the lamest, most predictable way possible. Terrible in every way. End with an "I wish I'd never..." joke.

Cut off the last 20 minutes and this would be a passable teen/horror flick. As-is it's utter trash.

I've got a better idea: Ryan Phillippe finds a magic saxophone and embarks on an illustrious and raunchy career as an internationally renowned saxophonist/sex fiend but also has a hidden past of lemon addiction which catches up on him from time to time in the form of demonic chairs.

I can't really explain why I don't dislike this more. It's pretty generic suspense horror. Not super gruesome (which actually is a plus for me, since I'm not big on gore), and fairly predictable. The wishes were spent on really dumb things, and admittedly that was aggravating, but it still wasn't terrible, it surely wasn't great, it was just kind of.. okay.

Give credit when credit is due: Wish Upon just wants to entertain you. The wontons, the slow motion shopping montage, the fart story, the Finale Deatination deaths; all there to make you happy. What doesn't make me happy, however, is not know the mystery of Ryan Philippe. Why, the hell, is he dumpster diving?
