With Honors

A surprisingly moving movie. Joe Pesci doesn't play a wiseguy or wiseguy derivative for once and it works expertly, and Brendan Fraser is uncommonly watchable, which makes for a good combo.

Predictable, overly plucking at the heart strings, but everyone does a good job.

a great story and a superb collection of complimentary actors. it's like a good will hunting for the early 90's.

Been a while since I've seen it, but I remember liking it well enough.

It was better when it was new. Now, it just seems like a rehash of much better Ivy League college dramas.

A Havard student grudgingly learns life lessons from a homeless man. What seems like a hackneyed "special episode' premise actually ends up a heartfelt and not entirely implausible drama thanks in no small part to Pesci and Fraser. Additionally the story is memorable and has a nice message without being patronizing in the least.

Sappy, predictable, and manipulative. Still, Pesci does a decent job with the material he's been given.

This is probably the most daring movie Joe Pesci has ever made, quite a departure from his usual wiseguy type roles. This is also one of Brendan Frasier's best films. Pesci plays a homeless man with health problems that blackmails his way into these student's lives. Very good film.
