I think you'd be hard pressed to come up with a shittier Corman produced fantasy from the 80's which is like saying that this is the stinkiest, most maggot infested bag of garbage in the landfill. Generally, his movies have a kind of kitschy charm, but I couldn't even delude myself into smiling at the the thrift store set pieces.

A string of fantasy ideas connected by unengaging editing and terrible special effects. Watch this if you want to be bored stiff.

This movie is just, hardly anything. They threw a bunch of fantasy tropes on a screen but didn't *do* anything with them. There are a couple of good performances, but it's mostly just the skeleton of a quest story with barely anything hung over it.

I usually enjoy these kind of sword and sandal fantasy type flicks, even if they are cheesy. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to make it a family movie, but dude, you sir are a fucking idiot!

Man, this is rough, it's painful even with a pretty solid MST3k commentary.

Basically imagine if someone looked at dollar store toys that ripped off popular toy lines of the 80s and used them as inspiration to make a movie ripping off basically anything they could think of, crammed into the film in real time as they thought of it, created with all the talent youd expect out of someone who would do this in the first place

So a 10-year-old kid whose voice has somehow cracked joins forces with a giant ambulatory macaroon and a pleasant sword-wielding drunk to basically travel around in a great big circle. Still, at least this one does have some humor and tongue-in-cheekiness to it...so it's not completely unendurable.
